Paradise Lost was an HBO documentary which aired back in 1994, about the case of three young men convicted of murdering 3 small children. After the documentary first aired, many questions lingered about the boys guilt which lead to Paradise Lost 2. The three boys who are now men Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Miskelly are still in prison and sending their appeals to the Federal Supreme Court. One man Damien Echols' (who is the only man on death row) is awaiting his final appeal. If this appeal does not go through, Echols could be sentenced to an unjust death by the end of 2000.
On October 10, Koch Records and Aces&Eights Recordings will release Free the West Memphis 3 compilation which will feature Eddie Vedder, Supersuckers, Kelley Deal, L7, Mark Lanegan and many others trying to help justice shine through. All proceeds will go to Justice Watch, which is a foundation that spends its time helping those folks believed to have been wrongly convicted of crimes. The foundation will then divvy up the funds equally between the three men, who have NO SOLID EVIDENCE that explains that they were behind or had anything to do with the gruesome murders.
