According to sources close to the North Carolina-based trio, Ben Folds Five have decided to call it quits after three critically lauded releases and one radio hit. Their fans are left with 1995ís self-titled album, 1997ís Whatever and Ever Amen,and 1999ís The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. The band is best known for their surprise hit off Whatever and Ever Amen called "Brick," an autobiographical song dealing with the touchy subject of abortion and how it affected Ben Folds and his girlfriend at the time. Regarding the bandís break-up, the PR firm that handles the band, Girlie Action, is currently not commenting on the situation.
