Irish supergroup U2 will be entertaining the masses pro bono come Dec. 5 at Irving Plaza in the big apple. Well Ö by "masses," we mean 1,000 lucky and exclusive winners of tickets given away by local station WXRK. According to sources there, the show will avoid "high definition video screens, hi-tech lighting and extravagant sound systems" in favor of a "lo-fi, analogue" performance from the band. The set will also be broadcast on the station, and it's expected to be syndicated thereafter to other radio stations across the US as well.
