Burning Airlines, the D.C. trio headed by J. Robbins (formerly of Jawbox) is in the studio this month recording the follow up to last year's Mission Control. J Robbins (who also produced Promise Ring, Jimmy Eat World) will head into the studio mid December, and will mix down the new stuff in January with John Agnello. Burning Airlines have been sprinkling their new sound around their hometown of D.C., playing a show with the Buzzcocks last month at 9:30 Club, and will rock again December 7th at Metro in DC with The Eternals.
Burning Airlines front man J Robbins is excited to belt out some new jams before heading into the studio. "I urge anyone who's wondering if there are any new directions left for underground music (call it what you want, you know what I'm talking about) to come out to this show. Last year at Metro, the Eternals played one of the best live sets I've ever seen by any band; we just played with them at CMJ and they were great then too. Totally unique. For our part, we might be hauling out some new songs, since this show will be our last before the recording." Expect the new record to come out in the Spring of 2001.
