Radiohead Get AMNESIAC For New Album

Radiohead plan to release their fifth studio album in March or April of 2001 titled Amnesiac. Radiohead announced the name of their next odyssey on Radio 1 Monday night (December 11) where they performed both a live and DJ set. Thom Yorke, Jonny and Colin Greenwood all spun some eclectic wax for Mary Ann Hobbs' influential Breezeblock show. Bassist Colin Greenwood spoke with NME about the forthcoming Amnesiac record, "We're very happy about it, really excited ". While in NYC recently Thom Yorke said "Amnesiac": "goes off in two ways. One is like broken machinery. The other is really fat and dark."

Rumors are flying about what exactly will be heard on the new record. Amnesiac will most likely have recorded sessions that did not make the final Kid A record, as well as some new stuff for us to enjoy. Radiohead has offered an exclusive live MP3 from their Radio 1 session of the "The National Anthem" on BBC One's site. While digging around for the sacred MP3, you can also check out Radiohead's DJ set list from last night - www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
