Oasis to play 3 gigs in South America

Despite numerous rumors (and prayers to God by Damon and Robbie) Oasis have not broken up. In fact the self proclaimed "biggest band in the world" have just announced that they will play not one, but three shows in South America with the first gig being at the Rock In Rio festival. The annual event will take place January 14, 2001 in Rio de Janeiro, with Guns N' Roses (who plan to release their Chinese Democracy album in 2001).

The second Oasis event will be the last night of the Buenos Aires Hot Festival which goes down in Argentina on January 18th. Oasis are scheduled to perform second on the bill after Neil Young. REM will headline the first night of the festival and are supported by Beck. Oasis close out the 3 show South American invasion when they at Caracas Olympic Stadium in Venezuela on January 21st with either Green Day or REM. Noel, Liam, Alan, Gem and Andy are then expected to
take part in a full-scale tour of North America with the Black Crowes. This is scheduled to begin in May and wind up in November 2001.
