REM will make a tremendous comeback to the world of rock in 2001. According to their official website, the legendary Athen's band will drop Reveal, their follow up to 1998's Up record. The band has been recording in both Dublin and Miami, with some occasional sessions in Athens over the past year. Along with producer Pat McCarthy and engineer Jamie Candiloro, REM is in the final stages of polishing up their long awaited release.
We will know a complete track listing for Reveal closer to the release date, but it is likely that the track "Disappear" will appear on the album. This record is described by the band's manager Bertis Downs as, "lush, atmospheric and melodic". He added, "After repeated listenings I would add things like ëlayeredí and ëdynamicí." REM will most likely share some new joints when the play this year's Rock In Rio festival in Brazil January 13.
