The efervescent pair of French dreamers Air, will release their third full-length album entitled 10,000 Hz Legend which will float through your mind in the spring of 2001 in Source / Astralwerks. J.B. Dunckel and Nicholas released Moon Safari in 1998, a magic carpet ride of late 60's electronic pop mixed with a grab bag of futuristic sounds. The new AIR seduction will feature collaborations with Beck, Buffalo Daughter, Jason Faulkner, and Brian Reitzell.
Last year Air composed and delivered an incredible score for the surreal Virgin Suicides film. Air recently were nominated for a Brit Award for Best Soundtrack for the movie, which is odd since they performed the "score", and the movie does have a complete "soundtrack" as well. The super shy duo recently opened the doors to their own record label dubbed The Record Makers. The new album from Air is rumored to sound like Kid A meets Pink Floyd on a velocity driven spaceship fueled by LSD.
