Napster has kissed and made up with yet another record label, this time New York's TVT
Records. Not only has the label agreed to withdraw its pending lawsuit against the file-sharing
rabble rousers, but label head and founder Steve Gottlieb, who is currently featured in his
own TV ad, no less, will serve as a Napster advisor. One of his focal points will be
furthering Napster's relationships with other record labels.
TVT's "if they can do it, so can we" change of heart is due to their favoring of the recently
implemented member-based business model that Napster is building with BMG and that
was adopted this week by European indie label edel.
