Wednesday Express ñ Breeders, BDB, Big Day Out, Dave Grohl, Marilyn Manson

For those of you who missed the Breeders when they resurfaced last December after six years, you get a chance to make up for it Feb. 25 at the same venue - the Hot Pants Club, in Los Angeles. They're doing their good deed for the month playing a charity show for the Children of the Night foundation. Good deeds are going around as Badly Drawn Boy saved his infamous woolly hat last night from the clutches of Ö a stupid fan willing to pay thousands for it. He found himself in a bidding war at an auction to raise money for Kosovo, and ended up shelling out 1,500 quid just to get his own damn hat back.

Tragedy struck the Big Day Out Festival in Australia last Friday (1/26) when over thirty people got injured during a crowd push at the Limp Bizkit show, and one girl had a heart attack. In a horrible turn of events, the young girl died yesterday. The band has issued a statement that they were "shaken by the injuries that occurred" and felt that there was a "cavalier attitude" toward fan safety by organizers.

Foo Fighter Dave Grohl has assembled a stellar lineup of heavy metal dinosaurs for his side project Probot. The roster includes Slayer's Tom Araya, Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, and King Diamond. The album is still in production and is slated for a fall release.

One of the best rumors of the year has, sadly, been laid to rest. There had been a theory floating
about that Marilyn Manson was set to star in the remake of "Willy Wonka & The
Chocolate Factory," to be directed by none other than Tim Burton. However, the
goth-glam-metal king of the underworld has stated that he was not even aware the movie had been
planned and was not due to reprise the role of Willy Wonka. Damn. That would have
RULED.
