Cincinnati will never be the same. Johnny Bench, Ickey Woods, and please add one more piece to the history books, the Afghan Whigs. The sensual rock band from Ohio, has broken up according to their label Columbia Records. Greg Dulli, the Whig's main voice, made it clear that geographical distance was the main reason for the split. Various band members are in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Cincinnati. The band released a statement saying, "It was a blast. We'd like to thank everyone who took the ride with us and let us ride with them."
Twilight Singers, Dulli's majestic side project, was released on Columbia last year. The label is thinking about releasing one last album from the Whigs, made up of live material.
