Keep both eyes peeled for a new Groove Armada album this summer. The untitled third album from the Armada will feature guest vocals from Jeru The Damaja, Nile Rodgers, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, along with electronic singer/songwriter Tim Hutton. A spokesperson for the band has squashed all rumors of the bandís gig at this yearís Winter Music Conference. The supposed gig high a top of the Sony Building in Miami will apparently not go down, so the band can concentrate on wrapping the new album up.
The Go-Goís are back from their Vacation and will be releasing the comeback album of the decade... well, we wouldn't go that far. Beyond Records will release God bless the Go-Go's on May 15, which markís the bandís first studio LP since 1984ís Talk Show. Last year VH1 released The Collection as part of their Behind the Music series. All of the original Go-Goís are back together with added weight, wrinkles, and children. The first single will be "Unforgiven" co-written by Billie Joe Armstrong (everyone's favorite pop-punker). Both Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffee, who play lead and second guitar for the Go-Go's, also helped write the diddy. Look for Unforgiven to drop in late March.
Country legend Johnny Cash, who has been treated for lung inflammation over the past couple of years, has been hospitalized with pneumonia. The 68-year-old rebel was admitted to the Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, Sunday morning. Cash is listed in serious but stable condition. The last record he released was American III: Solitary Man.
