Steely Dan made a tremendous impact on the 43rd annual Grammy awards Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The band won three miniature golden gramophones including album of the year for their Two Against Nature album. This marked the bandís first award in their 30-year plus career. When the announcement for Album of the Year was made by Stevie Wonder, a jubilant Steely Dan entourage graced the stage with excitement. So excited indeed that Walter Becker extended his hand in an attempt to meet the singer. The BLIND singer. This man unfortunately has no sight and cannot see that you are trying to shake his hand unsuccessfully in front of 20 million people. This awkward attempt lasted approx. 10 long seconds before Becker realized that even though Steely Dan had won "Album of the Year", a blind man was not about to regain his site and rejoice. Atta Boy Walter, youíll get em next time slugger.
