Depeche Mode Ready Exciter Release and Tour

Heís dead. Heís not dead. He ODíd. He is still alive. After failing to commit suicide for the umpteenth time, David Gahan and Depeche Mode will release Exciter this May and hit the road for their first full-blown tour of the states in six years beginning June 15. Mark Bell, who is best known for his collaboration with Bjork on her Homogenic and Selmasongs albums, and follows up the bandís 1997 release Ultra, produced Exciter. Dream On is the first single that will impact the dying world of alternative radio in April, and snippets of the new tunes from DM are available to check out on the bandís official site.

Martin Gore talked about Exciter and mentioned "It still has darkness, but I find it more uplifting." Gahan, in between shots of dirty brown angel dust and fits of rage, thinks fans will ease into DMís sound on the new album. "[The tracks] could have been songs from various different years of Depeche Mode," he explained in a statement. "It's almost like a greatest hits of songs that haven't been released yet. I'm not saying they're all going to be very big hits or anything like that. I just feel it is very strong in that way."
