UNKLE Back In That Ass?

James Lavelle is preparing to resurrect his dead UNKLE.The producer and coordinator of the groundbreaking Psyence Fiction treasure, will spark the project again, this time without the assistance of DJ Shadow. The 1998 record featured appearances from all stars like DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Richard Ashcroft of The Verve, Mike D of the Beastie Boys, Kool G Rap, and Jason Newstead of Metallica.

"UNKLE has always been something that has
moved about, and lots of different people have been involved, and Shadow was involved for that album, but he's not involved now in that same way." Lavelle is quick on the draw letting everyone know "this isn't an issue between me and [DJ Shadow], this was an issue of just Ö everything that happened. I don't want that pressure put between our
friendship again."

Lavelle also says that most of the Pysence Fiction peeps will sit the bench for the album as well, including Yorke, Ashcroft and D. Lavelle is looking to hook up with Queens of the Stone Age or Mo'Wax label artists South or the Psychonauts.

Lavelle recently scored Jonathon Glazer's British heist film Sexy Beast, whose soundtrack was recorded over an eight day period. Glazer sat in the directorís chair for the exhilarating "Rabbit in Your Headlight" music video for UNKLE.
