De La Soul has just been confirmed to be the headliner for this year's installment of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, a free (yes, you heard us correctly) three-day extravaganza taking place from May 26 to 28.
The rest of the lineup for the festival, organized by Detroit native Carl Craig will feature more than 70 acts this year, including
Autechre, Doc Martin, LTJ Bukem, Kid Koala, Tortoise, Derrick May, and Beastie Boys'
DJ Mix Master Mike.
All of the festivities will be taking place beginning
at noon at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit, and all proceeds from
the event are set to go to various children's programs put in place
by Detroit's Parks And Recreation department. For more details, check out the festival's official site at
