Thursday Express - Area 1 Adds New Order & Outkast, Squarepusher Pushes On

We've got more Area 1 tour news for you. Moby's tour extravaganza has morphed in
ways we'd never thought possible. We told you earlier this week about the tour adding sensitive
rock dudes Incubus and World's Most Famous DJ Paul Oakenfold, but today
the tour lineup changed with the magnitude of a 7.0 quake. Announced today for the 16 city
tour lasting July 11- August 5, were none other than alternative kingpins New Order,
hiphop giants Outkast and groovers The Roots, as well as DJ accompaniment
from Carl Cox. Who said there weren't good tours anymore? Continue to watch this
space for official dates and any further line up changes.

The organic soloist known to the world as Squarepusher, will release a new album called Go Plastic in July on Warp Records. Senior Square (a.k.a. Tom Jenkins) is known for varying his "ants in the pants" style from record to record, and no track listing or musical direction for this upcoming piece has been offered yet. Electronic ground work matched with spastic energy, accompanied by some off beat drum n' bass is most likely what bang you will get for your buck. Jenkins will play the highly anticipated Coachella Festival in California soon, and another stateside gig is confirmed.
