Air Set To Fly This Summer

The adorable Parisian duo Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel otherwise known as AIR, will set sail on a 16 gig road trip across the US beginning June 14 in Dallas. The delightful pair will release the follow up to 1998′s majestic treasure Moon Safari, with 10,000 Hz. Legend, which floats out of Astralwerks headquarters May 29. Air recently scored Sofia Coppolaís dreamy Virgin Suicides flick (now on DVD), and re-released their back catalog of goodies called Premiers Symptomes. The Tripwire has had the pleasure of experiencing 10,000 Hz. Legend and we assure your ears, mind, and body that you have never encountered such a radical piece of music. Godin and Dunckel, with help from Beck, Buffalo Daughter, Jason Falkner, and Brian Reitzell, set out to once again change the future of music influenced from the past and beyond. We will go on record as saying, “If AIR comes to your town, and you do not turn yourself over to their power for the evening, then you are an extremely stupid piece of meat.”

AIR will join the road with newcomer SÈbastien Tellier, another musician that calls Paris home, who will release his first album L’INCROYABLE VERITE on AIRís Record Makers label. The record which Rolling Stone called “one of the loneliest sounds you will hear this year”, will ease away from Record Makers/Astralwerks on June 12.
