The ultra dreary San Francisco based Red House Painters will spread their dismal joy this summer, beginning June 7 in Portland Oregon. Be aware that you need to be severely depressed (with credentials) to enter a "live" RHP show. Drowning your sorrow will seem easy and appreciated, thanks to the body snatching charisma of Mark Kozelek and crew. The band released their first album since 1996, Old Ramon on Sub Pop records earlier this month, coaxing the near suicidal masses, giving them another reason to live. Mark Kozelek recently appeared in the Oscar winning Cameron Crowe gem Almost Famous, as well as penned the music for the now classic track "Fever Dog".
