A very small handful of bands are able to survive the wear and tear of decades and remain intact, much less the loss of many, many, very many drummers along the way. Spinal Tap is one of those rare bands, and for those of you who never got to see them during the classic Smell the Glove Tour, you my friend, are in luck. It has just been announced that they will reunite for the Back From the Dead Tour (only playing the big, important cities of course) in early June. The lineup remains the same: Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Michael McKeon and a yet-to-be-named drummer.
The New York show at Carnegie Hall is part of the Toyota Comedy Festival, which will also feature Bill Maher, The Queens of Comedy, and certain artists from the Def Poetry Jam. Guests for the other dates have yet to be announced. In other related news, the DVD version of This Is Spinal Tap is out in stores.
