U2 frontman, Bono, is feeling so very good about himself after losing some weight and reading the latest Deepak Chopra book that he's decided to go on the Oprah show and tell all the ladies exactly how he changed his life! Ok, that's not exactly true, in fact, it's not true at all, it's a total lieÖbut it would be funny. Actually, Bono is going on the Oprah show, but for more pressing issuesóhe's still trying to drum up popular support for the Jubilee 2000 project, which is a crusade to end third-world debt. He will appear on Queen O's show alongside Nelson Mandela to get all the soccer moms in minivans behind the movement.
Speaking during a press conference in California, Bono said he felt the Jubilee 2000 campaign had so far been a failure. Despite playing a key role in the axing of debts from 22 out of 41 targeted countries, he insists there is plenty more work to do: "We're going to get to the heartland in some way on this," he explained. "There is a scandal in that one of the widest movements for any issue like this since the anti-Apartheid movement
feels let down they feel after all their campaigning they haven't achieved the results they're looking for." Check out www.jubilee2000.com for more information about the movement and how to help. Check your local listings for Oprah and Bono's tete-a-tete.
