Cake Puts Icing On New Album

Those nutty comic rockers, Cake, are putting the finishing touches on Comfort Eagle, the follow-up album to 1998's million-selling record, Prolonging the Magic, which spawned the radio hit "Never There." The band self-produced the new record, and it will come out on Columbia Records later this summer (they jumped from Capricorn after the last release). Cake have no immediate tour plans but might well turn up at a few summer festival shows in the coming months. Check out their website, www.cakemusic.com, for more album info and possible show dates.
