If Roots drummer ?uestlove is to be believed, we're all gonna be hiding
in our closets like summer campers in the "Friday The 13th" series, because according to
the sticksman, former Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack De La
Rocha's solo album is "scary." Ooooh. Lookout! It's Jason! But, seriously, the
drummer worked on six tracks with Zack and had this to say about the
experience. "I don't want to overhype it or underhype it, but it's scary. Crazy-fast beats
per minute, a theremin, crazy synthesizer energy, Moogs, a lot of drum'n'bass shit."
Damn. We better get armed, quickly, 'cos the monsters are coming!
Other superstars roped in to work on the De La Rocha project include Dan
The Automator, DJ Shadow, Roni Size and DJ Premier. No
track listing or release date has been set, but it is believed that there are more than enough
tracks to choose from and Zack just needs to whittle them down at this point.
Maybe he can whittle some sharp sticks for us to defend ourselves from the pending
