The exciting new roller coaster sounds of Primal Scream may see the light of day as early as the end of 2001. The crew have started work on their forthcoming record, and plan to tour Japan later in the year. The band will play their first live gigs of the year in late July and August at Far East. Bobby Gillespie, main screamer, told NME how this year has panned out so far. “Great! We just started the new record and it’s sounding good. So far it’s different [to "Exterminator"]… we’ve just started and we can never tell. Things change.”
“Hopefully we’re going to play in August. We’re going to Japan, which is good because I’m looking forward to playing again. However, he said the band have no plans to play in the UK in the immediate future. He continued: “We just want to make another record. We played a lot last year and I think you can overdo it by playing too much. But I’d sure love to play again [soon].”
