Wednesday Express-Ozzfest Spawns Off-fest; More Guitars For Radiohead

Really fired up for this year's Ozzfest lineup but bummed that you can't make the date
in your area? Then you may be in luck. A few of the acts on the tour, including
Papa Roach, Slipknot, and Linkin Park have spun off their own
mini-tour to be held on days-off during the Ozzfest. Entitled Off-fest, the tour starts in
Ozark, Missouri on June 10. Also on the bill are Ozzfest acts Disturbed and
Mudvayne. If Slipknot in Lubbock on our country's birthday isn't
what the founding fathers had in mind, then what is?

Off-fest will hit these towns on these days:

10 June - Ozark, MO @ Price Cutter Park

15 June - Moline, IL @ Mark of the Quad Cities (without Disturbed and
Linkin Park)

1 July - Phoenix, AZ @ Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavilion

4 July - Lubbock, TX @ West Texas Canyon Amphitheater

6 July - Antioch, TN @ AmSouth Amphitheatre

9 August - Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach Amphitheatre

Upon release of their next album, Radiohead promise to bring the rock! Well,
sort of. It seems the band are leaning towards a return to guitars next time they go into
the studio to record. According to bassist Colin Greenwood, the band did not
want to duplicate OK Computer when they headed for the studio in the sessions
that spawned both Kid A and June 5th's Amnesiac, so they went off in a
wholly different, unexpected direction. Next time, though, he sees the band getting back
to a song-based album, mixing Amnesiac with more guitars and, in an interview
with the NME, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke makes a
similar comment, saying that he "miss(es) guitars."
