Sure, they don't call anymore, but Oasis is promising something elseónamely, to change the crazy bad song-writing ways they've fallen into of late. The band is halfway through recording the new disc, which Noel Gallagher says he hopes to release by next spring, with a single out by the end of this year. Speaking about the new album, Noel says, "There isn't no fucking rock ballads, which I think we slipped into a bit too much over the yearsóprobably because we're getting old. It's all very heavy and energetic and up-tempo rock music with tunes." Yes, tunes are good.
He also revealed that all four band members (including relatively new members Gem Archer and Andy Bell) are now contributing songs to the mixó"Basically, it's four songwriters doing their own thing, and luckily for us it all sounds like it should ó it sounds like Oasis," Gallagher said. "At the moment, the album isn't swinging wildly from fucking rock and roll to country to blues to fucking space jazz to dance music."
