Mercury Rev Finish New Album

Mercury Rev, those shoe-gazing boys from Buffalo, have put the finishing touches on their follow-up to 1998's critically lauded Deserter's Songs. The new album, entitled All Is Dream, is expected to be released in early fall, though no date has been announced yet. The band (comprised of Jonathan Donahue, Dave Fridmann, Suzanne Thorpe, Grasshopper, and Jimy Chambers) was assisted with knob-turning, etc., by veteran producer Tony Visconti, whose past credits include David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust and, um, Peter Cetera's Glory of Love
(you know, the Karate Kid song - a bonafied classic). For more info, check out the band's website, www.mercuryrev.net.
