The US always takes stuff from overseas and passes it off as itís own ñ in this case, however, itís a muey good thing. The UKís lo-fi, indie-pop festival, All Tomorrow's Parties, will be making its US debut this fall from October 19th to 20th at the University of California at Los Angeles. Indie veterans, Sonic Youth will act as the event's curators, pulling together musical acts for the two-day event. So far theyíve signed up Stereolab, Eddie Vedder, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, former Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus, and Cat Power.
Festival-goers can expect spoken word artists as well as a film screening presented by composer and recent Jeff Tweedy collaborator
Other musical acts scheduled to appear include the Boredoms,
Autechre, Le Tigre, Smog, Papa M and the Fred Anderson Trio. More acts will be added in the coming weeks.
