In a move that could be construed as a desperate cry for intervention, ex-Smashing Pumpkin frontman Billy Corgan made a guest appearance Tuesday, June 12, on the final episode of the long-running, slightly scary (clowns and all) children's show, Bozo the Clown. Corgan was joined by former Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, among others, in a rendition of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" as part of the big farewell to the popular children's show. Corgan explains in the Chicago Tribune why he did it: "I'm a big believer that we need to celebrate important things, especially when they come to an end. I can't remember not watching the show. For me, it was an innocent thing in a pretty turbulent childhood." The special, "Bozo: 40 Years of Fun," will air on July 14.
