White Blood Cells

The White Stripes have returned with their much-anticipated (well, at least in certain circles) third LP, White Blood Cells, out July 3rd on Sympathy Records. The new release pretty much sticks with the winning formula of lo-fi country punk rock that brought them so much attention (well, at least in certain circles) with their highly-acclaimed sophomore release, De Stilj. The sibling duo of Meg (drummer) and Jack White (guitar and vocals) eskew some, traditionally, pretty key band elements, like a bass...but frankly, it's impossible to tell that there's much of anything missing here. They've succeeded in creating another album of lovely, crude, melodic, gritty Detroit rock 'n roll music for the people.
