Carroll OíConnor who played the racist yet acceptable father on one of televisionís most famous and controversial shows All In The Family died Thursday (June 21) of a heart attack. The actor was 76 years old and had been complaining of chest pains before collapsing at his home in Los Angeles. OíConnor received an Emmy for his role as Archie Bunker, and co-wrote the theme song he sang each week, "Remembering You" (aka "Those Were the Days"), along with high pitched TV wife Jean Stapleton. The chair used in the show is now actually in the Smithsonian ñ go figure. OíConnor later co-produced and starred in CBSí In The Heat Of The Night.
