Thursday Express-Missy Remixes Garbage; REM for Homer; Double Stone Gossard

In a week full of Garbage happenings, comes news that the electro-pop quartet will collaborate with
Missy Elliott. Elliott will remix a track from the forthcoming Beautiful Garbage, either lead
single "Androgyny" or album track "Untouchable." Evidently, Elliott and head Garbagewoman Shirley
Manson are buddies and fans of each others' work. How very cute!

Following the footsteps of fellow world mega-stars, Radiohead, REM are due to appear in
an animated comedy show on television. Radiohead featured in last night's "South Park" episode and
REM are due to appear on the long-running smash, "The Simpsons." The Athens trio is to travel to Los
Angeles to record the audio for the episode, which will air in November. Too bad they can't battle
Barbra Streisand like Robert Smith of The Cure did.

Stone Gossard is one busy, busy man. The Pearl Jam guitarist has completed not one, but
two albums. One will be released under his own name and features ex-Green Apple Quick Step
singer Ty Willman on vocals on a few tracks. The album, entitled Bayleaf is due out on
Epic Records on September 11. Gossard's other release is the third Brad album, featuring
contributions from ex-Satchel member Shawn Smith. The album is currently labelless, but
may be released by Epic as well.
