Pop-rock group The Smithereens - best known for their late-'80's offerings ñ have announced a new leg of gigs to follow the round they just wrapped up earlier this month. The group's upcoming trek comprises both headlining club dates and several festival appearances. Friday night's (7/12) kick-off will find the group performing at the AT&T LoDo Music Festival, a two-day event that will also include performances from the Violent Femmes, Indigo Girls, Reverend Horton Heat among others.
The Smithereens have been touring steadily since the October 1999 release of God Save the
Smithereens, though frontman Pat DiNizio took a bit of a break last year to mount a very unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. Senate.
