Fatboy Slim Makes MTV's Moonman His Weapon of Choice

MTV's awards shows keep getting more lame as the years progress, but at least they show some good sense here, nominating Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" video several times over for the 2001 Video Music Awards show (let's hope nobody over there is on the phone with any of those Wayans characters right now). For anyone living under a rock...and that's totally fine, whatever...Fatboy's video stars the chronically creepy/fascinating Christopher Walken, soft-shoeing it like a master around a hotel. The video, along with it's director, Spike Jonze leads all nominees with nine nods including Video of the Year, Best Dance Video and Breakthrough Video, as well as Best Direction and Best Special Effects.

U2 takes second place here getting 4 nods for their song "Elevation" and one for "Beautiful Day." U2 and Alicia Keys are the first acts confirmed to perform at the show on Sept. 6 in NYC. For a full list of nominees, go to MTV.com.
