Tuesday Express - Joy Division Box Set, Sneaker Pimps Ink to Tommy Boy

In one of the worst cases of delayed UK to US release, news has arrived (by message in a bottle, evidently)
that the Joy Division box set Heartandsoul is finally to be made available in the US. The 4 CD
set, compiled by currently touring Joy Division/New Order members, Bernard Sumner and
Peter Hook, will hit stores on August 7, a whopping 3 years after its release in the UK.
Chronicling the band's career and including all studio material Joy Division recorded, as well as a bonus
live CD, the set features 2 CDs centering on albums Closer and Unknown Pleasures, a CD
representing their first EP and all demos and John Peel Sessions and the aforementioned live CD,
culled from 4 separate shows.

UK trip-hop darlings (circa 1996, but they were still darlings once) Sneaker Pimps have signed a
new worldwide record deal with Tommy Boy. The band, who now feature guitarist Chris Corner
on vocals, after the 1999 departure of chanteuse Kelli Ali, inked a four record deal; the first of
which, Bloodsports, drops October 30 and features production from Flood. No news as to
whether the Pimps' 1999 album, Splinter, the first with Corner on vocals, will see a US release. Ali
is working on solo material, as well, having recently joined up with One Little Indian Records.
