Monday Express - Coldplay Dis Stallone; Reading USA Festival Put On Ice

What do you say when Hollywood heavy Sylvester Stallone comes to you and wants
to use a song off your album in one of his action extravaganzas? Evidently, when you're
Coldplay, you say "No, thanks!" The quartet from London denied the erstwhile
Rocky Balboa use of their song "Trouble" for his race car epic, Driven. The
band was quite flattered by the offer, but didn't think the song and movie vibed, so they
declined the use of "Trouble." Hopefully, that maneuver won't cause them any...

After high hopes and much anticipation comes word that it looks like the inaugural Reading
USA fest is going to stop before it even gets going. The concert, planned for September 8 in
Camden, NJ (the closest large venue to the festival's UK home's namesake, Reading, PA) was
due to feature a wide array of talent, including the only domestic appearance in 2001 from
Eminem. Other bands that were schedule to appear on the ill-fated bill were
Linkin Park, Xzibit, Guided By Voices, Muse, and Folk
Implosion, amongst others. The exact reason for the cancellation is not known at this
time, but that doesn't make it suck any less.
