I honestly never watch ABC. Ever. I checked it out last night while I waited for Curb Your Enthusiasm to come on HBO, and witnessed the freshest and most creative show since Twin Peaks, Alias. This program was hyped as the best Fall show by every critic within shouting distance, and honestly they nailed this one with a big ass hammer. Last night's premiere episode had solid characters, a super cool musical score, and nifty transitions that kept me locked to the screen wanting more. New goddess Jennifer Garner (Pearl Harbor, Dude, Whereís My Car?) stars as Sydney Bristow, a special agent who is still in college attempting to finish grad school. Sydney was approached by the agency when she was a freshman in college, and filled the shoes naturally. This show comes off like a small motion picture, and the uninterrupted premier was fantastic. The transitions were golden, the storyboard was intensely believable, and the action was straight from a John Woo production. Garner is a smart, tough, and deadly attractive woman who will help ABC compete with FOX, who have had Sunday nights locked down forever with The Simspons, King Of The Hill, etc. Next Sunday night I know what I will be watching (before switching to HBO of course).
