Courtney Love, whose hobbies include getting turned down for movie roles, trying unsuccessfully to be glamorous, and clogging up our legal system, has again entered the courtroom in an effort to collect on the success of her late husband Kurt Cobain. The Hole / Bastard frontwoman has filed a three-count suit against Universal Music Group and the surviving members of Nirvana ñ Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic ñ seeking a declaration that Nirvanaís contract with the label is void and all rights pertaining to the band should revert to her. Similar to Loveís own suit against UMG, she argues that Nirvanaís contract with Geffen was terminated once UMG gained control of the label. She also claims the label has withheld approximately $3.1 million in Nirvana royalties. This is the latest in a series of lawsuits by Love to gain control of Nirvanaís assets. Most recently she filed suit against Grohl and Novoselic seeking a dissolution of Nirvana LLC, which splits rights among the three.
