Indie Bands Compete For Valuable Prizes and A Chance To Be Major

ModMusic Records is proud to announce the Indie Band Search 2002. The Indie Band Search is a national contest that gives independent musicians, artists, songwriters, and bands a chance to be heard by entertainment industry professionals and compete for prizes worth over $10,000. ModMusic will be accepting submissions from independent bands of all musical genres, from October 29, 2001 through February 14, 2002. Ten bands will be chosen as finalists and will win a slot on the nationally distributed and critically acclaimed compilation CD series Indie Choice, available on ModMusic Records in the summer of 2002. Three of the 10 finalists will be singled out as the Grand Prize, Second, and Third Place winners. In addition to being featured on the compilation CD, these top three winners will receive prizes from the sponsors worth over $10,000, including Fender guitars, CD Manufacturing from A.D.A., wireless mic systems from Shure, and gear from Memorex, Puma & Urban Outfitters, among others. The other seven finalists will also receive prizes and accessories from Fender, D'Addario, Memorex, and Sam Ash Music, just to name a few.

The judging panel is made up of major and independent label A&R scouts, publishers, radio DJs, music writers, television, film and other industry professionals, including John Titta (Senior VP, Warner Chappell Music Publishing), Peter Primont (Pres., Cherry Lane Music Publishing), Lee Dannay (VP of A & R, Columbia Records), Joe Kirschen (Editor & Publisher, Rockpile Magazine), Lorraine Bracco (Actress, HBO's "The Sopranos"), Christine Nagy (Z100 Radio, NY), and Ted Stryker (KROQ Radio, LA).
