Radiohead Dubbed Best Act in the World, Oasis Demand A Recount

The 12th annual Q Awards were held at the Park Lane Hotel in London yesterday (Oct. 29) with Radiohead bringing home the highly coveted Best Act in the World Today award and Travisís The Invisible Band grabbing Best Album. In winning the award, which is voted for by the magazineís readership, Radiohead beat out last yearís winners, Travis, as well as U2 , R.E.M., Stereophonics, and Manic Street Preachers. Travisí victory came at the expense of P. J. Harveyís Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea, U2ís All That You Canít Leave Behind, Radioheadís Amnesiac, Museís Origin of Symmetry, and Stereophonicsí Just Enough Education to Perform.

Other winners include Ash for Best Single ("Burn Baby Burn"), Gorillaz for Best Video ("Clint Eastwood"), Starsailor for Best New Band, and Manic Street Preachers for Best Live Act.
