For those of you who have sadly never seen a Red Hot Chili Peppers show, you now have your chance to catch the Funk-Rock pioneers in action right from your lazy-boy. Off the Map, a DVD / VHS release, captures the Peppersí September 2000 show from Portland, Oregon. Set to hit the shelves December 4th, the set includes such "red hot" hits as "Califrornication," "Otherside," "Under the Bridge," "Blackeyed Blonde" and "Give It Away." Also included are some fantastic covers like George Clintonís "What Is Soul?" and Public Enemyís "Youíre Gonna Get Yours," as well as a performance of John Fruscianteís "Usually Just A T Shirt #3" from his í94 solo album Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T Shirt. The DVD edition comes packed with the now expected "bonus footage" which includes an additional fifty minutes of backstage and interview footage and the tracks "Skinny Sweaty Man," "I Could Have Lied," "Parallel Universe," "Sir Psycho Sexy" and "Search and Destroy."
Meanwhile, if your in the neighborhood on December 14th, the "most naked band in the world" will take part in the three day Silver Lining Silver Lake Benefit show for the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic. Elton John and Sting will headline the opening night on December 13th while the Chili Peppers and Beck play the following night with Jaguares and Jurassic 5. The final night's entertainment will be a concert version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Donovan Leitch Jr. in the title role and John Frusciante on guitar.
