There's A Date After A Long Wait For New 808 State

Techno pioneers 808 State are readying their first effort in 6 years and hope to have
it ready by early next year. The currently nameless album will be the Mancunican dance
act's first since Don Solaris in 1996, and like with that album, when Manic Street
Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield guested, the new record will feature
quite a few collaborators as well. Amongst the luminaries lending a hand on this album are
Elbow singer Guy Garvey, Simian and techno-gospel act
Alabama 3, best known for their Sopranos theme song, "Woke Up This
Morning." Rumored to feature as well are the Stone Roses' king monkey himself,
Ian Brown and ex-Smashing Pumpkin kingpin and sometime New
Order sidekick, Billy Corgan.
