Three classic Sonic Youth albums will receive the deluxe treatment from Universal later this year when they hit the streets as lavishly re-packaged re-releases. Dirty, Goo, and Daydream Nation have all been re-mastered in their entirety and will all be released as 2-disc sets with the second disc including hand-picked demos, live versions, outtakes, and B-sides from their massive archive. DVD editions of Sonic Youth video titles, including Screaming Fields of Sonic Love, The Goo That Lives on in My Heart, and 1991: The Year Punk Broke, can also be expected, complete with bonus material, later this year. The group is currently working on finishing their new full length album which is the first to feature a fully-integrated Jim OíRourke as both performer and co-producer. No dates have been announced for any of these releases, but they should all be dropping before the end of the year.
