Lost Highwayís Golden boy, Ryan Adams, plans on releasing a number of albums in the new year, including a pair with the lovely Beth Orton. As previously reported, Adams has spoken about forming a "supergroup" with Evan Dando, Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, and Melissa Auf Der Meur called The Fucking Virgins. Adams now says that this release is just the beginning of long and busy year. He also wants to team up with Beth Orton, with whom he has recently recorded a cover of the Stonesí "Brown Sugar," under the guise of the Candy Cane Killers. Adams currently has at least three albums of new material ready for release including an acoustic record called The Suicide Handbook, the Destroyer which was recorded before Adamsí solo debut and 48 Hours, an album made three weeks after he finished Gold and completed in two days. Also, in an interview with Mojo magazine, the work-a-holic said that he really wants to start a punk band. Adams said, "I want to do a punk band really bad. Stuff where I can find some crazy singer and be like a Greg Ginn in my own Black Flag." No release dates have been announced for any of these projects, but they better hurry up before Adams decides to start a polka band.
