Bono To Be Honored For Charity Work In Star-Studded Extravaganza





U2 frontman Bono has some special plans for Valentine's Day this year. The star will be honored at an event called Love Rocks: Celebrating The Biggest Hearts In Entertainment for his longstanding philanthropic and political work. No Doubt and R.E.M. will perform at the event, to be held at Los Angelesís new Kodak Theatre, with TV personalities Drew Carey, Ray Romano, Kevin Nealon, and other special guests all making appearances. Since U2ís rise to stardom in the '80s, Bono has used his star status to raise awareness and money for causes like the conflict in Northern Ireland and AIDS in Africa. According to launch.com, as recently as last Friday (February 1), Bono was discussing international aid for developing nations alongside Microsoft head Bill Gates at the World Economic Forum in New York.
