Badly Drawn Boy Has No Problem Signing His Name To New Label

Through a licensing agreement with XL Recordings, UK indie superstar Badly Drawn Boy has inked a deal with ARTISTdirect Records. Under the 3-album agreement, ARTISTdirect will handle all Stateside marketing, promotion, and distribution for the artist. BDB and his new label will team up for two new releases this year. The first is the original soundtrack to the film About A Boy, which also includes the filmís incidental music. The soundtrack is scheduled for release on April 23 and is produced by Tom Rothrock of Beck and Elliott Smith fame. The second new release will also be produced by Rothrock and is scheduled for a September release. BDB is currently recording the official follow up to 2000ís Hour Of Bewilderbeast in Los Angeles and is pleased with its progress, calling it "a collection of songs that really work together."
