Live - Dovetail Joint Set Chicagoís Metro Ablaze

I hiked up the stairs at the Metro around 10pm on Friday night (3/19), just in time to catch Dovetail Joint belt out the opening notes to "Candy." The Joint, who utilized the Metro a few weeks back for their CD release party, were now rocking a support slot for Soul Asylum. Though the crowd was a bit older than Dovetailís standard 16-20something audience, they were more than willing to hoot, holler and cheer (or any number of other one syllable grunts of adoration). As I wrestled my way to the bar for a frosty beverage, the band exploded into the first single from their new EP entitled "Cool Your Head." It would be safe to say that the band won the audience over with that tasty morsel, and that was only their fourth song. Dovetail continued to treat the Metro to song after song of both old and new material, culminating in a thunderous three-song finale that was a fitting end to one of the best sets I have seen this band play. What a way to kick off the holiday weekend!
