Prepare groove kids, premier agit-dance-rock outfit Prodigy is about to re-enter the musical radar screen.
The band, who will play this month's Coachella Festival, as well as a date the night earlier in
Las Vegas, are preparing to release their first album since 1997's instant classic, Fat of the
Land. The album, as reported earlier, is entitled Always Outnumbered, Never
Outgunned, and is out at the end of the year on Maverick in the US and XL in the UK.
XL will release two singles prior to the album, the first being "Baby's Got A Temper" and
the follow-up believed to be "Nuclear." Frontman Liam Howlett doesn't believe
their 5-year layoff has hurt the band at all. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Howlett claimed,
"When English bands stop their touring or recording, their space is filled by someone else.
In my head, when we stopped, no one really seemed to fill our spot. That's down to the
characters in the band and the music I expect." That remains to be seen, but Indio, CA, in the
late April heat seems as good a proving ground as any.
