Dashboard Confessional On Board For MTV2 Unplugged 2.0

Chris Carrabba has officially become the first non-platinum-selling artist to be asked to tape an episode of Unplugged. According to Vagrant Records, Chris and Dashboard will tape MTV2 Presents Unplugged 2.0: Dashboard Confessional in the MTV Times Square studios. The episode will feature the group ripping through unplugged versions of songs from their Vagrant Records debut, The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most, and is sure to set the standard for future MTV2 Unplugged shows. Since its inception, the cable network has had a tradition of championing new bands, most recently Saves The Day, Thursday, and Phantom Planet. MTV2 GM David Cohn said of his choice to invite the band to perform, "Dashboard is an excellent example of the kind of artists and music that MTV2 is actively supporting - this performance will help introduce fans to some of the great new music that may not have reached a mainstream audience yet." The episode of Unplugged 2.0 will air later this summer. Dashboard Confessional will be playing a number of radio festivals throughout May and June and will team up with Weezer for some live dates in July.
