Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons and full time millionare, told the Financial Times on Tuesday, "I think we are closer to winding it (The Simpsons) up. Although what happens generally if we win the Emmy for best animation show is that that gives us another couple of years to run it into the ground," he said. TV Guide ranked the long running animated sitcom eighth on its list of the 50 greatest television shows of all time. Reuters reported that Groening closed the interview with this accurate commment, "I think Fox will wring every last penny out of the show before they call it a day."

Craig Kilborn has inked a deal with CBS to remain the host of The Late Late Show for at least two more years. Craiggers has been the host of the show since March of 1999, when the blonde farm boy from Minnesota left his position as host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central for the plush network gig. The network is up 25 percent in viewers since Kilborn and his ìprettinessî came onto the scene.

HBO has renewed the feel good funeral home family hit of the year, Six Feet Under, for a third season. Thirteen new episodes of the drama based on the daily life of a family living in a funeral home where obviously dead people ainít living were ordered. The series was created by American Beauty writer Alan Ball, who picked up an Oscar in 2001 for his work on the best movie of that year.
